CYS Training Instructions

Read and/or print All directions before proceeding to access CULearn and the course CRS 2101 Protecting Children: Identifying and Reporting Sexual Misconduct course.

Instructions:

Login to CULearn

  1. All Users including faculty, staff, students, and volunteers are to navigate to CULearn.

  2. Faculty, staff, and students click on the Cornell NetID Users button and enter the active CU NetID.

    Click on Cornell NetID Users on home page of CULearn website.
  3. For All Other Users with an active CU NetID, click on the All Other Users button and enter the active CU NetID.

  4. For All Other Users without an active CU NetID, inform the Program Director.

  5. Program directors will need to request the Children and Youth Safety Program Administrator at youthprogramadministrator@cornell.edu to have the training assigned to the learners, that do not have an active CU NetID.

  6. After training is assigned to the learners without an active CU NetID, then the learner needs to navigate to CULearn and click on the All Other Users button.

Search for the Course

  1. Enter the course title CRS 2101 Protecting Children: Identifying and Reporting Sexual Misconduct in the Learning Category section and click the search icon or hit enter.

    Click the search icon or hit enter in the Course field to search a course in CULearn.
  2. Click on the course name CRS 2101 Protecting Children: Identifying and Reporting Sexual Misconduct, and press enter.

  3. Click on the “Launch” button to begin the introduction to the course.

    Click on the Launch button to get to the Course in CULearn.

Start Course

When the course opens up, click on the Start Course button.

  1. The course will go through the Introduction. To review all of the 5 steps that will need to be followed to successfully complete this course, click the Start button.

  2. Steps to follow within the course are:

    • Step One - Register at the United Educator's (UE) website.

    • Step Two - Watch for an email from UE.

    • Step Three - Login to the UE website.

    • Step Four - Search for course material on the UE website.

    • Step Five - Forward Certificate of Completion to the Program Director.

  3. Continue through the course.

  4. Click the Start Attestation button.

    Click Start Attestation (To confirm your understanding of the steps needed to complete this course, please submit the Attestation.)
  5. Read the Attestation and choose True or False.

  6. Click Next.

  7. On the last page of the “Attestation Results” page, click on the arrow down to get to the information regarding the UE website.

  8. Click on the UE Website button to connect to the United Educators training site. Read and/or print all directions before proceeding.

  9. The United Educators Registration page will appear.  Register with the first and last name, and the Cornell University email address on the United Educator’s site.  All Other Users will register with their first and last name, and preferred email address.

    Click on Register button on Registration page for United Educators.
  10. United Educators will send an email message to the email address provided by noreply-learningportal@ue.com with a username and temporary password.  Please check the In-Box, Clutter folder, Junk folder, and SPAM folders.

  11. Navigate back to the United Educators Registration page and scroll down to the Sign In section and enter the login username and temporary password provided by United Educators.

    Click on Sign in button on the Sign In page.
     
    1. Upon clicking the Sign In button, change the temporary password to a new permanent password.

    2. Enter the old and new password

  12. This will navigate to the United Educators “Welcome to the Learning Portal” page. Under the “My Courses” section use the arrows to scroll to find the course “Protecting Children: Identifying and Reporting Sexual Misconduct”.

  13. Click on the course titleProtecting Children: Identifying and Reporting Sexual Misconduct”.

  14. This will navigate to the course “Protecting Children: Identifying and Reporting Sexual Misconduct” page. Click on the “Launch” button to start the course.

  15. After successfully completing the course, United Educators will send an email message from noreply-learningportal@ue.com with the certificate of completion.

  16. Email the certificate of completion to the program director.

Tips for accessing the United Educators Learning Portal:

  1. The most up-to-date web browser version of Firefox, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Safari Web Browsers are needed.

  2. Remember to clear the Cookies or Cache.

  3. Remember to enable Third-Party Cookies.

  4. Remember to disable the Pop-up Blockers.

If a welcome email message was not received from noreply-learningportal@ue.com, then:

  1. Navigate to the United Educators “Sign In” page and click on “Recover Your Password?

  2. Enter the email address used to create the account.

  3. Click on “Send Password

  4. United Educators will send an email that will contain the new temporary password from noreply-learningportal@ue.com.  

  5. Click on the link included in the email from United Educators to return to the “Sign In” page.

  6. Enter the email address and temporary password.

    1. Upon clicking the Sign In button, change the temporary password to a new permanent password.
