Reporting an Incident

Policy 8.8 creates an independent duty for all members of the Cornell Community to report immediately when they have reasonable cause to suspect abuse or maltreatment of minors. 

If a child or youth is injured or falls ill, you are required to file an incident report with EHS.

**New York State law and Cornell University prohibit any form of retaliation, intimidation, harassment, or adverse employment action against any trustee, officer, employee, agent, or volunteer of the university who, in good faith, reports any activity within the university that is suspected of being illegal, fraudulent, or in violation of any governmental regulation or university policy.
